Governor Whitmer announced Wednesday they are increasing their vaccination goal across Michigan from 50,000 to 100,000 shots per day. This comes as cases continue to rise across the state.
“We are going gangbusters on the vaccines and that’s really where people really need to have their personal responsibility following the protocols and getting themselves vaccinated,” she said. “It’s the best thing for them individually and for our economy.”
Emergency Director of War Memorial Hospital Austin Conway said they’ve been seeing alarming case numbers as of late. “Over the last few days we have seen a spike in our testing as well as our positivity rates, and that’s alarming so getting the vaccine and increasing our output is very important to us,” he said.
