A number of former leaders from Western and Nyanza regions, some who have been in the political cold for over a decade, are plotting a comeback in 2022 General Election.
They are banking their hopes on the ongoing political realignments in the two regions and nationally.
The politicians are angling to fill the seats to be left by governors who are serving their final terms.
Such governors are Wycliffe Oparanya, (Kakamega), Sospeter Ojaamong (Busia), Cornel Rasanga (Siaya), James Ongwae (Kisii), Okoth Obado (Migori) and Cyprian Awiti (Homa Bay).
Some of the leaders aiming to try their luck in next year s General Election have been coalescing around political kingpins.
Esther Passaris’ Comment On Omanga Being Mishandled Sparks Mixed Reactions
Nairobi woman representative Esther Passaris has once again found herself on the wrong side of a section of Kenyans on Twitter after condemning the mishandling of Millicent Omanga in Kisii.
During the burial of Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi’s father on Monday, Omanga was evicted from the podium following a standoff with governor James Ongwae after she tried to snatch a microphone to address mourners.
The nominated senator later tweeted saying she is no pushover.
“Bora wamejua I’m not a pushover. Ama wanasemaje hapo njei?” she posed.
Like many of us, the incident caught the eye of Esther Passaris who took to her Twitter platform to share her opinion.

ODM leader Raila Odinga received a heroic reception in Kisii town on Monday afternoon moments after he attended a burial as he campaigned for the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) referendum.
Raila further told Deputy President William Ruto allies not to associate him with the Jubilee Party’s failures.
Raila was in Kisii to attend the burial of Abel Gongera; father to Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi.
The former Prime Minister who arrived at Tendere Primary School shortly after midday in the company of Kisii Governor James Ongwae was received with jubilation and chants from the crowd.
