More than 65,000 people have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccination, since the state began administering them late last year. State health department director Dr. Nicole Alexander-Scott announced Thursday that the state is now administering more than 6,000 doses of the vaccine per day.
“When you look at the last seven days, our vaccine administration rate has increased by 130% compared to what we were doing in January,” Alexander-Scott said.
Who the list doesn’t include may be as newsworthy as who McKee tapped.
The list does however includes a number of small business owners.

Nor does the list include any representatives of the signature companies that Governor Gina Raimondo attracted to the state Johnson & Johnson, General Electric or others.
Perhaps the most surprising is that the list does not include any senior members of Raimondo’s staff or cabinet. GoLocal has learned that of Raimondo s personal staff of 40, fewer than ten have voiced an interest in staying with McKee.

Lt. Governor Daniel McKee was notified this morning that he had been in close contact with someone who later tested positive for COVID-19.
McKee is slated to assume the governorship in just weeks as sitting Governor Gina Raimondo has been named by President-elect Joe Biden to serve as Secretary of Commerce.
The Lt. Governor tested negative later this morning and exhibits no symptoms. He is currently quarantining at home and will continue to be tested.
