Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan, says governor

LAHORE: Governor Ch Sarwar has said Pakistan is with peace and India is with terrorism. The governor said this while addressing columnists and journalists in the Governor s House here on Sunday.
“Pakistan has wholeheartedly worked for peace in Afghanistan, but India wants instability in Afghanistan. Foreign policy of Pakistan is a manifestation of national desires. On a tour of the United States, I briefed American leadership on our role for peace in Afghanistan and the region. It helped them in understanding Pakistani version. It will prove beneficial for Pakistan. Everyone appreciates our role for peace. Work on 1,500 projects of Punjab Aab-e-Pak Authority is progressing. Till December, clean drinking water to Rs7.5 million will be provided. As a chancellor I appointed 18 vice-chancellors on merit in Punjab. No action, except merit, will be tolerated in universities,” the governor said.
Governor lays foundation of Malik Meraj Khalid School
LAHORE: Punjab Governor Ch Sarwar laid the foundation-stone of Malik Meraj Khalid School Sunday.
Its first phase will cost around Rs250 million. Friends of Lahore will initially provide Rs50 million as donation. The governor also expressed his interest to establish a university by the name of Malik Meraj Khalid. Governor’s spouse Parveen Sarwar announced to bear all the expenses of a special block built for girls to provide them free technical skills. The governor laid the foundation-stone of Malik Meraj Khalid School in memory of ex-caretaker premier Malik Meraj Khalid on Burki Road. All the cost of this project will be borne by Governor Ch Sarwar, Gohar Ijaz, Mian Talat, Anwar A. Ghani from charitable organisation Friends of Lahore and other philanthropists.

LAHORE : Governor Ch Sarwar met with Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, deputy chairman, Punjab senior minister and senators.
The meeting discussed political and parliamentary matters whereas all leaders condemned Israeli crimes and urged the United Nations to take prompt action and press Israel to uphold international law.
Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, Deputy Chairman Mirza Muhammad Afridi, Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan, Senator Waleed Iqbal, Senator Ijaz Ahmad Chaudhry and other senators called on the governor.
Governor Ch Sarwar congratulated Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani on performing Umrah and various issues came under discussion during the meeting.
