In hundred years ago on may 29 he was born. How do you put an exhibit like this together . Where do you start . First you start with a few researchers. We collected 34,000 photographs of jfk and his family. It took about six months and it became the basis of a very important book that we published with harper collins. From those 34,000 pictures in the 400 and some odd pictures in the book we were able to select 77 photographs that we felt told the story of jfk and his life and times. Jfk was a modern resident. Crews think it raced between two buildings in a tight space and got inside this building. They had to cut into the roof as you see there to gain access to the fire on the second floor. The building houses several businesses including the rang dang vietnamese restaurant. 70 firefighters on scene successfully prevented the fire from spreading to the buildings next door which were evacuated including a bank. The old buildings, were they built really closely to their neighbors so it always creates an issue with exposures. We want to get together with some developing news with firefighters on the scene of a destructive fire that thankfully is now under control. Start to the a 15 this morning in oaklands chinatown but quickly went to five alarm. This is that 7th and webster street. It appears to have started as a Dumpster Fire and then spread to the twostory building. It has restaurants and stores there on the ground level and the building runs along two thirds of that block. Everyone made it out safely and firefighters were able to keep those flames from spreading to the neighboring buildings. In this densely packed area. It did say that we have the personnel that we were able to get out of the building to the fire under control. To that many bodies.
