(File Photo/ANI) BJP MP urges Uttarakhand CM to review decision of including Almora district in Gairsain administrative division ANI | Updated: Mar 07, 2021 14:13 IST Dehradun (Uttarakhand) [India], March 7 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Ajay Bhatt on Sunday urged Uttarakhand Chief Minister Trivendra Singh Rawat to review the decision of including Almora district in the newly created Gairsain administrative division. This comes days after the Chief Minister declared the Gairsain town in Chamoli district as a new administrative division of the state. The government announced that the Gairsain division would be comprised of four hill districts, including Almora and Bageshwar (both in Kumaon region) and Rudrapyarag and Chamoli (in Garhwal region).

According to a statement issued by the Uttarakhand s Governor House, the decision of organising the flower festival was taken at a meeting chaired by Governor Baby Rani Maurya on Thursday. The Raj Bhawan gates will be opened at 11 am on March 13 for the general public to visit the flower exhibition after its inauguration by the governor at 9 am, the statement read. A postal cover featuring some plant, tree or flower unique to Uttarakhand will also be launched on the occasion.

The rescue work at Tapovan tunnel resumed as drilling operation started at 2:00 AM to peep into the tunnel 12 to 13 meters below, the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) said. However, operations have now been temporarily suspended after a drilling machine broke down. Uttarakhand DGP Ashok Kumar said:  We were undertaking rescue operation in the big tunnel to remove debris till yesterday. We have also started drilling in a smaller diameter tunnel to see what is inside. But it has been suspended temporarily as the machine broke down.
