Take-It-Back Movement Says Lagos Government Must Compensate Oworonshoki Residents, Condemns House Of Assembly For Backing Community Ruler

  Human rights and pro-democracy group, the Take-It-Back Movement (TIB) has insisted that the Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State government must pay for damages done and lives lost as a result of their collective inhuman actions unjustly lunched on the people of Oworonshoki communities through the Ministry of Environment and Lagos State Taskforce. TIB Movement unequivocally condemned the alignment of the members of the Lagos State House of Assembly Committee set up to oversee matters surrounding the illegal demolition in Oworonshoki communities.

Lagos State Government Seals Churches, Nightclubs, Event Centres Over Alleged Noise Pollution

The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State government has sealed churches, event centres and other establishments in the Lagos Island, Ojudu, Ogba, Magodo, and Ikosi areas of the state over alleged noise pollution. From the photographs posted on X platform (formerly Twitter) page from the office of the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, some of the affected establishments include New Jerusalem Ark of God International Church and Yplus Event Centre.

Lagos Demolishes Shanties, Makeshift Structures In Lekki-Epe, Ikota, Other Areas

  Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State government on Thursday announced the demolition of shanties and makeshift structures along the Lekki-Epe expressway, at Orchid Junction and Eleganza Bus Stop.   The Lagos State Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokumbo Wahab, who made this known in a post on X (formerly Twitter) said the task force officers from the ministry who carried out the demolition exercise also demolished shanties allegedly serving as a criminal hideout in the Ikota area of the state.  

Lagos State Government Announces Total Ban On Street Trading, Hawking, Others

The Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu-led Lagos State government has announced a total ban on street trading and hawking across the state. The state government also announced ban on erecting illegal structures on drainage systems and displaying of wares and other commodities on walkways. The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, who made the announcement on Friday on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, said that the move was part of the state government's renewed effort to ensure a cleaner, safer, and healthy environment.
