bret: president obama traveled to texas today to tout his jobs plan, but it may prove to be a tough sell in a state that has not exactly bought into his job creation philosophy. here s white house correspondent wendell goler. reporter: deep in the heart of the red state of texas, president obama tried to sell a jobs proposal that republicans, including one who wanted his job, have largely rejected. with government seed money, mr. obama wants to partner universities and businesses to form product manufacturing institutes, to advance his three main goals for american workers. we ve got to make america a magnet for good jobs. second, we ve got to help people earn the education and develop the skills they need to do those jobs. and number three, we ve got to make sure that people who are working hard are able to achieve a decent living. reporter: the institutes proposal was announced in his state of the union address.
