familiar face. a guest who offered insight into the workings of the cia. all that changed yesterday when he was arrested and his ties to the cia questioned. for more on this story, brian steltzer joins me. good morning. this is a shocking story and cuts to the heart of what we do here on tv about credibility. when you re on tv, it confers credibility and legitimacy. wayne simmons was a familiar face on fox. often talking about a former cia operative. on air he s introduced aa former cia analyst or former cia operative. the government says he was making it all up. the charges came down yesterday. he was indicted by a federal grand jury and arrested yesterday, accused of falsely claiming he worked for the cia for 27 years, 1973 to 2000. he used that to get a government security clearance, which he did, and worked as a defense contractor, che did. which raises governments for the federal government why he was

doing vital support work for the armed forces and other government agencies. looking at his past, two run-ins with police over shooting incidents. in 2004 shot out a tire of someone s vehicle. it was xman explained as an anger fueled blackout. and now we re getting information about the screening process, a spoekdsperson for the company say they confirmed they used a service to perform two background checks. it s hard to imagine this part of his past simply wasn t brought up or was missed. what s going on here? yeah, this part of the story is kind of disturbing. a government security clearance and remember, all of the security clearances which this guy apparently had are given by the government, they are not given by the contractor. and a security clearance background investigation like ones i went through should have picked up some of these law enforcement issues and also his kind of sketchy military record he apparently had. a government security investigation should have picked
more importantly the panel is stripping the senior agents of their government security clearance. that will prevent them from getting the private security jobs in the private sector. those fired will lose their pensions. in mcmahon s case after 28 years on the job. there is one catch. do these guys know something that could implicate others in namely in the ag s office or the white house? many believe they will try to leverage that information to get a better deal, maybe keep their pensions. megyn: a nationwide depaid has broken out over a man pushed onto the subway tracks and killed moment later by a subway train. a new indignity for the royal family as a couple radio hosts prank the hospital where the
