there would often be commentary, and that same kind of thing took place earlier tonight on this network. at the end of his broadcast tonight, chris matthews felt he could no longer go without saying what he did, about what he saw and heard from the president today. and so, we thought our viewers might appreciate hearing it, as well. so, here now, chris matthews comments at the end of tonight s edition of hard ball . watching him on the white house lawn today, i wasn t sure how far donald trump would go in destroying this country s most precious assets in order to protect himself from justice. today, we heard and saw it. listen to him today, listen to him, standing there with the white house behind him, saying what he knows to be on the same level of conspiratorial nonsense as his birther b.s. listen to this man, the president of the united states, continue to trash the very institutions that have made this a special country. a country of, by and for the people. a government of, by
now? things are looking great and we re out and about and working hard and working smart. and that is what we re going to have to do. i think everybody realizes a great conservative revolution start evidence in this country with the 2016 elections. people voting to drain the swamp, to return to being a government of, by and for the people, to returning to invigorating that american dream for families and individuals. putting the focus on securing the southern border, which helps to make our communities and our country safe. and they want more of that. so if you want more of it, they are going to go and vote for candidates that the president is supporting. sandra: what did you think of the president s message there, we cannot be complacent. we have to go out and we have to fight like hell. absolutely. as the late u.s. senator fred thompson used to say. you have to run flat out or
100 days, and it has been a lot, media will kill. this 100-day thing it s absurd, who would even make such a promise. on november 8 americans will be voting on this 100-day plan to secu to return security to our governments and we will once more have a government of, by and for the people. and importantly, we will mike america great again. believe me. you know, he put that 100-daytime line with great fanfare. it sounds like what he had done for years as a real estate developer. he late it out, his closing pitch in the final days of the campaign, in gettysberg. actually he tweet it about it as well, this 100-day standard he
out there. there was this hidden enthusiasm for trump beyond what we were seeing, the visible enthusiasm we were seeing. democrats said there was going to be this upsurge of latino vote, but a lot of people voted for donald trump. it is looking increasingly that we have a brexit. anderson, i think the american people right now are sending a loud, clear, unmistakable message they want their government back. this is supposed to be a government of, by, and for the people. this is the people rising up to say it is time to listen to us. it is about public service. that is what we re seeing. donald trump ran against republicans, democrats, the elite, the government, the media, but he was an unmistakable voice for the people. you should start a sign company because that was your
citizens. we want people that can love us. there are ways, through talent, of determining that. other countries do, but we don t. come on in, folks, come on in. clean up corruption in washington. tough ethic reforms to reduce the corrupting influence of special interests and donors. on november 8th, americans will be voting for this 100-day plan to restore prosperity to our country, secure our communities and honesty to our government. this is my pledge to you and if we follow these steps, we will once more have a government of, by and for the people. and importantly, we will make america great again. believe me.
