Inside Hereford s new trail-blazing cyber security centre

BUILDING work at Hereford s new £9 million state-of-the art cyber security centre has finished, and the site has been handed over by the contractor. When the centre opens in spring 2021 at Skylon Park in Rotherwas, it will provide significant resources for research and development across three cyber laboratories, advanced training facilities as part of the University s Wolverhampton Cyber Research Institute. Chiefs say there will also be space for up to 16 cyber firms at the Midlands Centre for Cyber Security in Hereford s Enterprise Zone. The centre is a joint venture between the University of Wolverhampton and Herefordshire Council and part-funded by the Government s Local Growth Fund, via the Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

Place North West | Funding boost for Eden Project North

Neil Tague The Lancashire Enterprise Partnership has committed £1.2m to help cover costs as a planning application is progressed for the Morecambe attraction. The investment from the LEP will fund the next stage of design work, further developing the content of the project and conducting the environmental impact and sustainable transport work required for planning consent. Eden aims to complete this work in time to submit a planning application in 2021, with the £125m project aiming for an opening date of 2024. The LEP is one of four regional partners on Eden Project North, the others being Lancashire County Council, Lancaster City Council and Lancaster University.
