by definition that makes him anti-capitol. that s why we see capitol flowing away from our economy. and not producing private sector jo jobs, which is the ultimate measure of success. u should we have had less regulation in terms of the oil industry, particularly in terms of safety? i think we should have had competent government oversight. i don t think what we have now is a demonstration of government incompetence. there s been a general lack of confidence in the consumer sector and the capitol sector. that is not good for anyone. i just love it, congressman. something goes wrong with an oil company blows it and ruins the gulf of mexico. they blame the government for not having done more to regulate them when every day of their lives they pay huge amounts of money for lobbyists to keep government away from them. everybody knows these facts.
be hard sells for the general electorate come november. let s talk about a couple of those. first of all, during the debate you said that people on the no-fly list, for alleged terror connections, people on the no-fly list should be able to go out and buy guns. isn t that a security risk? well, it might be, if the no-fly list was better managed but the truth is ted kennedy was on the no-fly list, a 7-year-old boy was on the no-fly list, my wonderful sister in law was on but there are also bad guys on the list. and don t you want to prevent them from getting guns? well, sure if we really knew what the bad guys were and those were the only people on the no-my list but the truth is the list by the government s own admission is far too broad. so, why should a law abiding u.s. citizen who has the right to bear arms, be prevented from doing so, because of government incompetence? this is what people are crazed over. we have a government getting bigger and bigger and taxes
since the mid 1970s when a dictatorship was overthrown. there s people angry at the government, what they see as government incompetence, fraud, overspending and a small percentage of violent anarchists to want to cause trouble and they re doing battle with the police every night. it s a dual between the two of them as far as the bailout, some good news with mayor european nation, part of $140 billion bailout that should help greece delay default. but it s been a tough sell for the european nations. in greece there has to be an austerity program, lower government pensions and salaries and this could lead to more street protests. we could see a general strike here next thursday. back to you. shepard: steve, thank you. a high profile sponsor dropped lawrence taylor just hours after prosecutors formally
