There are 100 beds available at the hospital with oxygen support, and 20 ICU beds, the hospital dean said
An oxygen storage tank will become fully functional at the Government Headquarters Hospital in Udhagamandalam over the next few days. The six kilolitre storage tank will store liquid oxygen, which can be vaporized and used to treat patients requiring oxygen support.

Tamil Nadu’s daily COVID-19 case count surpassed the 30,000-mark on Wednesday, with 30,355 more people testing positive for the infection and 293 succumbing to it. The overall tally touched 14,68,864 and toll 16,471.
Four districts Chennai, Chengalpattu, Coimbatore and Tiruvallur accounted for 46% of the fresh infections. More than half the fatalities were reported in these districts.
Chennai accounted for 7,564 cases and 89 deaths, followed by Chengalpattu with 2,670 cases and 28 deaths. As many as 2,636 people tested positive and 18 died in Coimbatore, while there were 1,344 cases and 21 deaths in Tiruvallur.

State’s case tally crosses the 14-lakh mark; active caseload surpasses 1.5 lakh; 94,890 people inoculated
Tamil Nadu on Monday logged 28,978 cases and 232 deaths, with Chennai recording the highest number of fatalities at 67.
The State’s tally surpassed 14 lakh so far, 14,09,237 people have tested positive for COVID-19. Its toll touched 15,880.
With the fresh cases, the active caseload went past the 1.5 lakh-mark.
