CELEBRATION of Robert Burns and his works will be different this year for sure, as people are being invited to remember Scotland s beloved Bard digitally. Here we look back through the Tele archives to toasts and suppers held in memory of Scotland s greatest poet. Some well-kent faces featured in this picture taken at a Greenock Burns Club coffee morning held in the Greenock Town Hall Salon. The event was held to raise funds for a schools Burns Supper that would encourage younger people to take an interest in Scottish culture, and Burns in particular. TAKEN in 2013, this picture shows the top table and guests at the Jolly Beggars Burns Supper held in Gourock Bowling Club. These evenings are always well attended by Burns enthusiasts, as they enjoy an evening of toasting, traditional food and great company.
