Star Cider, like many other food and drink establishments, endured a 2020 of ever-changing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions during its first full year of operation.
Now that restrictions are easing and places like the cidery, which Cortni and Adam Stahl and Adam’s brother Nathan opened in May 2019, are able to return to normalcy as more people become vaccinated, a party – and certainly a toast – is in order.
Beginning Friday, Star Cider is marking another anniversary weekend with live music, food and drink specials, and the release of summer seasonal varieties and a special cider for the occasion.

Farmer s Markets in the Rochester area are starting to return for the 2021 season. Brighton Farmers Market and Fairport Farmers Market are the early birds, and have already opened. The majority open in June.
New York has adopted the CDC’s guideline on masks, and that extends to farmers markets as well. People who are vaccinated are no longer required to wear a mask, indoors or outdoors. People who are not vaccinated are expected to continue to wear masks in public. Activities are limited to those that will not cause people to congregate.
Guidelines have been changing rapidly, so you may find that the situation will change from week to week.

Oh, no, not a look back at 2020. Most everyone is trying to forget it, and here we are bringing it right back up.
For many restaurant and bar owners, 2020 is considered a four-letter word, thanks to COVID-19 and resulting business shutdowns and slowdowns, employee layoffs, and flying by the seat of your pants to stay afloat while the rules of operation change midstream.
Heading into 2021, many remain fearful of the impact the pandemic will have on their livelihoods. The warm weather gave a much-needed shot in the arm to the establishments that could provide outdoor service, but as the heart of the cold season approaches, the coronavirus could undo everything and set everyone back to square one.
