BUFFALO SOLDIER HERITAGE DAY SUN, FEB 28TH
In partnership with the Fort Concho Foundation and the San Angelo Chapter of the NAACP, Fort Concho will celebrate Buffalo Soldier Heritage Day this Sun, Feb 28th from 2:00 – 3:30 pm in the Fort Concho Stables with free admission. This year’s program theme is “Buffalo Soldiers and the Frontier Army: Men, Mission and Myth.” Seating is limited and masks are required. For more information, call 481-2646.

Maine South High School Board of Education Honors Students for Elective Area Achievement
The District 207 Board of Education named three students as “207’s Best” in the area of elective area achievement during the January meeting. The students recognized were Elise De Salle from Maine East, Miguel Patino from Maine West and Damian Setla from Maine South.

Elise has taken advantage of challenging courses of study throughout her career at Maine East which have included: Art Applications, Design & Materials, CAD Technology 1, Culinary 1, AP Human Geography, Art 2, PLTW Civil Engineering and Architecture, AP English Language and Composition, AP US History, AP Art History, PLTW Introduction to Engineering & Design, Cybersecurity, Gourmet Cuisine and AP English Literature and Composition.
