Gotel Communications Limited, owned by former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar has allegedly gone bankrupt, SaharaReporters has learnt. SaharaReporters gathered that the media outfit, which combines television and radio stations based in Yola, the Adamawa State capital, at the weekend disengaged its staff and shut down transmission. It was further learnt that paucity of funds grounded operations and compelled authorities to shut down the station.

Mr Humwashi Wonosikou, Press Secretary to the Governor, gave this indication in a statement on Saturday. x
He stated that Abdulaziz died in a car crash along the Gombe-Bauchi road.
“The late Abdulaziz, a versatile journalist, had worked variously with Voice of America (VOA) Hausa service, Premium Times, Daily Trust and Blueprint Newspapers.
“He also worked with New Telegraph Newspaper, FRCN Fombina FM, as well as Gotel Communications before the unfortunate auto crash that claimed his life,” he stated.

The Kaduna State Government, on Saturday said, troops have apprehended suspected kidnappers in Chikun local Government Area of the state.
This was contained in a statement issued by Mr. Samuel Aruwan, Commissioner, Ministry of Internal Security and Home Affairs, Kaduna State.
According to the statement, “Troops of the Nigerian Navy have arrested three kidnappers in Kujama, Chikun local government area on Friday.
“According to the report, the bandits, in a black Toyota Corolla, drove up to the shop of a POS agent in the area and attempted to kidnap the operator and a customer who was there for a transaction.
