One dead, one critically injured in head-on collision south of Torrington Saturday By Greg Hirst on March 6, 2021 File Photo, Oil City CASPER, Wyo A Wyoming resident died and another person is in critical condition Saturday, March 6 following a two-vehicle crash south of Torrington. The Wyoming Highway Patrol said 19-year-old Tyler Schaub was driving northbound on US Highway 85 when, based on evidence at the scene and witness statements, his vehicle veered into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a Kia Optima. Both vehicles came to rest in opposite ditches.  The driver of the Optima was extricated from the vehicle by Goshen County emergency personnel and transported “with life-threatening injuries” by helicopter to Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska.

Group protests mask mandate TORRINGTON (WNE) — A group of area residents held a peaceful demonstration in and around the Goshen County Courthouse on Dec. 15 to protest mask mandates. Citizen Danielle Murphy created an event through Facebook’s social media platform entitled “Restore our rights protest.” The events description announced a calling for a “peaceful gathering to show support and assert our rights under the Wyoming Constitution.” The event description also said, “Many other county sheriffs and attorneys have come forward, stating they will not enforce these unconstitutional mandates. We ask ours to stand with us and do the same.” “I want my choice to not (wear a mask) to be respected as well,” Murphy said. “We have the right to decide our own medical care. I have the right to choose for myself and my children. I believe a mask is being used as a medical device and I think it opens up a can of worms when you are talk
