Westhoughton car attack: 3 men released after assault on Gorsey Hey

Police on Gorsey Hey in Westhoughton on Tuesday THREE men who were arrested after a motorist drove into a man before attacking him and a woman have been bailed. A flood of police cars were sent to Gorsey Hey in Westhoughton yesterday after a man drove a silver Toyota into a man at around 3.15pm. The driver then attacked the man, aged 42, and a woman, aged 39, police said. The victims were not thought to have been seriously hurt. Three men, aged 50, 29 and 34 were arrested on suspicion of affray. This afternoon, police said they have all been bailed pending further enquiries.

The shocking incident happened in Gorsey Hey just after 3pm. The victims are said to have escaped serious injury and officers have arrested three people. Officers have also launched an appeal for witnesses A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: At around 3.16pm this afternoon police were called to a report of an altercation on Gorsey Hey, Westhoughton. Officers attended and following enquiries it was established that a man in a silver Toyota had driven into a 42-year-old man before attacking both the man and a 39-year-old woman. The victims injuries are not believed to be serious. Three men aged 50, 29 and 34 have been arrested on suspicion of affray and remain in custody.
