　廣東省氣象局介紹，「查帕卡」登陸時中心風力12級、風速達每秒33米。受「查帕卡」影響，18日夜間以來，該省南部沿海市縣出現了暴雨局部大暴雨，其餘市縣出現了(雷)陣雨。 　20日18時許，江門市台山浪琴灣景區的沙灘，因「查帕卡」而封閉，海岸邊的椰林在狂風中搖搖欲墜，來這裏度假的遊客只能滯留在附近的酒店裏。「我從貴州過來旅遊，第一次親眼看到這麼大的風浪。」一位滯留在酒店內的遊客望着洶湧的海浪越過高高的岸堤說。 　據氣象水文監測，18日20時到20日21時，有6個鎮街錄得超過250毫米的累積雨量，有146個鎮街錄得100毫米至250毫米的累積雨量，有186個鎮街錄得50毫米至100毫米的累積雨量。其中，江門台山市海宴鎮331.5毫米、陽江陽東區東平鎮311.5毫米。同時，該省沿海市縣和海面出現了平均風7級至9級、陣風10級至13級的大風�
