The otherwise sleepy Bhandara district in Maharashtra’s Vidarbha region has caught the attention of the state since the past couple of weeks. Farmers there are protesting against the state government’s inability to procure their paddy. On the other hand, the residents are angry after the government failed to book culprits in a fire tragedy that claimed the lives of 10 newborns.
