federal prosecutors, some of whom resigned in protest. did it take for years to complete? correct. and with all of these resources and all of these people, you were sent to help you investigate, you only filed three criminal cases. you only brought two cases to trial, correct? correct. and you lost all of the cases you brought to trial, correct? and that s not all that happen today. we are also following the latest controversy over ethics at the supreme court. propublica reports that in 2008, justice samuel alito went on a luxury fishing trip with paul singer. and hedge fund billionaire and gop megadonor, who later had cases before that very court. according to the report, paul singer flew alito to alaska on his private jet, and leo did not disclose the trip. it also said that alito did not recuse himself from those cases that involve singer. the justice refuted propublica s reporting in the wall street journal, even
report before it was published in a wall street journal op-ed, saying that he did not know that singer had an interest in any case before the court and that singer s name did not appear in court documents. alito explaining that on that private jet flight he was in what would otherwise have been an unoccupied seat. the revelations about alito come just weeks after reports that justice clarence thomas had accepted from another gop megadonor numerous luxury vacations and private school tuition for his grandnephew he was raising as a son. and after chief justice john roberts sought to quell the controversy. i want to assure people that i am committed to making certain that we as a court adhere to the highest standards of conduct. in april as this controversy grew, all nine justices the supreme court signed a statement on ethics principles and practices trying to reassure the public. but members of congress in both
