Google Assistant Driving Mode rolling out in Canada
It s finally here, but it s not the same as Google originally promised
Google Assistant Driving Mode has started to roll out to Canadians. After going through some changes and launching first in the U.S., the mode is finally making its way to other parts of the world.
Google first showed off the Assistant-based Driving Mode at its I/O presentation in May of 2019. At the time, it was basically Google Maps/Android Auto built into Google Assistant. In its original implementation, all you needed to say was, “Ok Google, let’s drive,” and the phone would enable driving mode.
Google Assistant Driving Mode is going international
Google has been particularly slow with rolling out Assistant Driving Mode, which was announced at I/O 2019 but only made available in late 2020. Even then, it was limited to users in the US. But that s no longer the case as Google is now making the feature available for users in other countries too.

However, we can confirm that the UK is one of them one of our readers there got it on his Pixel 5.
