The coronavirus pandemic has turned a group of Palm Beach Shores residents into a virtual theater troupe. The Palm Beach Shores Players began in March, shortly after the tiny town’s mayor, Myra Koutzen, lost her re-election bid to a former pardoned Iran-Contra spy.  Koutzen, looking for something else to do, turned to her friend, Mary Stanton. Both women had backgrounds in the arts.  Koutzen was a theater major in college and worked for a time as a lighting designer and stage manager. Stanton is a mystery novelist who dabbled in amateur theater.  “Mary and I were trying to figure out what we could do to keep ourselves occupied and keep community with the people in Palm Beach Shores, so we wouldn’t feel so isolated,” Koutzen said. “So, we got this crazy idea.”
