Greg Ottenbreit, the MLA for Yorkton, said that the deficit is something they felt was needed in this year’s budget. “In these times of COVID, it’s important to not only support but invest in the province,” he said. “What I have been hearing from constituents and province from around the provinces is at this point they are not really worried so much about the deficits; they want to make sure that they are supported, and we are poised to recover and build once we come through the pandemic.” Ottenbreit said that compared to other provinces, he feels Saskatchewan is in a good place.

Some local roadways will be receiving upgrades, as part of the Saskatchewan government’s 300-million-dollar investment in highways over the next two years.
Highway 229, to Good Spirit Provincial Park will get thin-membrane surface upgrades.
Meanwhile, Highway 16 will see passing lanes added in two areas – from Springside to Saltcoats, and from Clavet to Viscount.
Both projects are expected to be completed this fall, and the roadwork is part of the province’s two-year, two-billion-dollar stimulus package, aimed at speeding up the economic recovery from COVID-19.
1- Enjoy a winter bbq on the deck. So winter might not be the traditional time to throw a chop or steak on the outdoor grill, so why not be bold when you do and try a homemade barbecue sauce, maybe something using locally sourced honey? 2- Write a letter letting your family know you love them. It may seem a bit old-fashioned but there is something deeply personal about a handwritten letter, and we could all use some practice with our writing skills in this largely text-based world. 3- Make homemade butter with your kids. 4- Go through your clothes and donate the ones you don’t wear anymore. We all have them, the ones that time has shrunk, or that are simply out-of-fashion (Do you really need to keep those corduroy bell-bottoms?) So pass them on.
