In there is the Good Samaritan Clinic and if you re a dentist, they need your help! The Good Samaritan Clinic helps people that need medical or dental help right away, but don t have insurance. According to the Salvation Army. Dental and medical clinic for persons without private dental insurance-provides urgent care; dental exams, x-rays. The clinic is for person without medical assistance or health insurance and have a health concern; smoking cessation clinic also available.

Homeless services providers awaiting vaccines

Service providers for the homeless community in Mesa County are on the waiting list to receive COVID-19 vaccines when they become available, but plans to get the homeless community at large vaccinated are still in early stages. According to Mesa County Public Health, service providers, like workers at local homeless shelters, are able to receive vaccinations as part of Phase 1B of the vaccine roll out. HomewardBound of the Grand Valley Development Director Jesse Redmond said they have received a link to sign up for the vaccine. “Everybody is kind of keeping in touch and keeping up with the plan on how we handle this,” Redmond said. “In terms of where we stand on vaccinations, we have received a link to get on the waitlist. I have done that. Our Executive Director encouraged staff to do that. Now it’s just waiting for additional word from the county.”

The Salvation Army says there were 832 online donations amounting to $160,911.90 during that time and Mayo Clinic will match that total with its own contribution. “We are so grateful to Mayo Clinic for their continued support and for this exceptionally generous gift,” says Major Robert Mueller, Corps Officer of The Salvation Army. “The Salvation Army’s programs in this community are life changing to those individuals and families utilizing our services. By matching the dollars in their virtual kettle, Mayo Clinic is helping bring hope and healing to thousands of our neighbors in need.”

The Chevron Corporation has donated $21,000 to the St. Mary’s Emergency Relief Fund, the hospital announced in a Dec. 8 news release. The relief fund was established in April as a direct response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It provides financial assistance to patients and the hospital with COVID-19 expenses. The money within the fund is used to help patients treated for COVID-19 pay for expenses such as recovery medication, insurance co-pays and at-home medical equipment. The money is also used in-house to pay for protective equipment for caregivers, and screening and testing supplies. For example, the fund recently helped supply 40 respirator masks for CareFlight of the Rockies air trauma teams.
