Morrisons £18 own brand English sparkling wine beats brands twice its price to win GHI taste test

An £18 bottle of Morrison s English Sparkling Wine is the best fizz on the market according to experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute. Ahead of English Wine Week expert taste testers at the magazine put 21 bottles to the test on the look out for well-balanced, aromatic fizz, with lively bubbles, apple, citrus and brioche flavours.  Of all offerings under £35, Morrisons Best English Sparkling Brut Vintage came out on top, which the runner up was a £35 bottle from Chapel Down. While traditionally English wine hasn t proved popular in recent year s the industry s top critics and winemakers claim the country is producing bottles have never tasted - or sold - better.
