CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) â West Virginia State Police are investigating a double-homicide as a murder-suicide, according to Cpl. Baron Claypool.
Autopsies confirmed that Wesley Alan Wayne, 41, and girlfriend Kara Bennett, 39, both of Good Hope Pike in southern Harrison County, died of a single gunshot wound each, Claypool said.
State Police believe Wayne shot Bennett, then turned the gun on himself, Claypool said.
Wayne and Bennett were found dead Wednesday at the Good Hope Pike residence.
Claypool, State Police Bridgeport Detachment Commander Sgt. P.B. Cork and Harrison Sheriffâs Lt. Steve Johnson, commander of that departmentâs Southern District, had responded to the home around noon Wednesday. They were looking for a stolen vehicle from Braxton County, as well as a stolen gun, and were also there to serve a domestic battery warrant on Wayne, Claypool said.
