We have tried to encourage everyone to get into the kitchen, no matter their skill level. In our opinion, no question was too basic, no task too insignificant to ignore. I ve talked about how to scramble eggs, how to wash dishes, how to reheat leftovers. On those kinds of topics, a few sarcastic (to put it nicely) comments were always lobbed my way. Many were along the lines of this: What s next? How to boil water? (Also: How to toast bread? Not ruling that one out either!)

There Are Only Two Restaurants Open 24 Hours In Casper
As of last Friday (January 9th, 2021), the east side of Casper now has a 24-hour restaurant too. Craves is also now open 24/7.
We got a chance to talk to Craves owner and operator, Johnathan Tieszen, about the change. He stated:
I went out with my wife and discovered that there was little to do in the evening outside the bar scene. Now that everything closes early, there is even less to do after 8:00 pm. We wanted to create an environment where friends and family can come and spend time together enjoying a delicious, made fast and fresh all day and night long. Our goal is to satisfy all your CRAVES any time of the day.

CLEARING out a house that has accommodated the lives of six people on and off over six decades is a hard task.
We are trying to balance a certain ruthlessness with respect for our history, our treasured possessions and the items that remind us of our late parents. It’s a tall order.
I find myself deciding to keep a simple picture, painted onto a tile, of a figure in a currach pulling up at a shore with two thatched cottages in the background. It conjures up family holidays in the west of Ireland. I find it comforting. It is not fine art but as souvenirs go, it’s pretty and evocative of times past.
