Newsroom. Lets get to glenn hurricane schwartz with the latest on the path. The official advisory has come out not more than a couple of minutes ago. It is still a Tropical Storm, but its close to hurricane strength. It is obviously looking better organized and is likely to become a hurricane. The track, a little farther east than yesterday, but its also more likely to stall out in the ocean, not too far off the jersey shore, monday through wednesday, which could cause some additional problems next week. The local impacts, a little bit eastward track, less rain north and west, but the rain and wind also looks like it might linger at the shore through labor day, itself. Hes the latest. You can see everything spinning around. It looks more like a real Tropical Storm. Just want to give you an idea of the size of this thing. And if youre driving from philadelphia down to North Carolina, thats a pretty long drive. Thats a very large area, that is being covered by this. Now, lets take a look

Perhapss as a category one hurricane. Whats important to us, what does it do once it moves off the carolina or mid atlantic coastline. This thing is going to slow down. Huge area of the High Pressure will prevent it from going anywhere. The question is does it slow down just south of new england or are we talking about something several hundred miles south. It will be breezy. Well get some rough surf and rip currents, but we wont get rain. Gussy winds across the cape and the opportunity of rain coming in here late sunday and into monday. All right.
