"We expect that this year the output of import-substituting goods will amount to $29 billion. Two years ago it was about $26-27 billion. Next year we are set to exceed the $30 billion mark," Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said.
Roman Golovchenko is paying a working visit to Gomel Oblast on 15 December. The prime minister visited the production floor of the Gomel Casting and Normals Plant, and toured the exhibition of Gomselmash farm machines.
It is important to have a balanced approach towards import substitution, Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko told journalists during his working trip to Gomel, BelTA has learned.
According to Krzysztof Tołwiński, the two countries have differences in agriculture. “In Poland farms have 100-200 hectares of land while in Belarus farms possess thousands of hectares. Poland's policy in agriculture is based on the fact that the owner of an agricultural enterprise is a family, and there are no other employees. Collective farming is more developed in Belarus,” he said.
