A North Liberty man has been taken into custody for the second time in two years for driving without a valid license with a gun in his vehicle.
North Liberty Police conducted a traffic stop on 28-year-old Trevor Tvedte of the Golfview Estates manufactured housing community just outside his residence just after 7:45 Friday night. He allegedly had fraudulent license plates. Investigators say Tvedte had a handgun sitting next to him inside the vehicle. His license is barred until March of 2022.
Tvedte is charged with Carrying Weapons and Driving While Barred. If convicted on both charges, he faces a maximum of four years in prison.
