.- As an adjunct to their online Summer 2021 exhibition, Shades of Blue, Asia Week New York will present a webinar entitled The Color that Changed the World: The Impact of Blue in Asian Art, on Thursday, July 29 at 5:00 p.m. EST Click here to register.
First produced by the Egyptians over 6,000 years ago, blue pigment has been a prized component in some of the greatest works of art in world culture and Asia ranks high among them. A distinguished panel of specialists and curators in Asian art will present perspectives on the development and impact of cobalt blue, indigo and dayflower in their specific fields of Chinese and Japanese art.
Burma Spring Benefit Film Festival To Debut Online Beginning June 4th
A 10-day event set to feature 30 films and live speaking forums with all donated proceeds to benefit humanitarian causes in the country.

During the first ever Burma Spring Benefit Film Festival, which takes place from June 4-13, film fans world-wide can view over 30 movies online while learning more about the country via a series of daily live forums. “We hope to reach many people with real information about what‘s happening in my country right now,” says Kenneth Wong, a Burmese language teacher at UC Berkeley who is one of the festival organizers. “Between the films and the speakers, attendees will get a wide range of views, both historic and current and understanding of a complex country a truly historic event.”
