Bullseye! The Daniel Boone High School Marine Corps JROTC marksmanship team recently won the Tennessee State Three Position Air Rifle Championship. It’s the team’s second year in a row winning the competition, making it the first team in DBHS’s history to win back-to-back state championships. Because of their success in the state competition, the marksmanship team qualified to participate in three different national competitions. “We’re going nationals in three directions,” said Master Gunnery Sgt. and team coach John Daniels. “We’re going with (Civilian Marksmanship Program), we’re going with the Marine Corps Service Championship and we’re going with the Junior Olympics, so this team has really had great milestones this year in leading the pack.”
