Gordon Elliott, the scandal-hit Irish trainer, was on Friday night handed a 12-month racing ban over the unforgivable photograph of him sitting on a dead horse.
The three-time Grand National winner showed appalling bad taste and a complete absence of respect , according to a damning verdict from the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB). After a week in which the image sparked international outrage, the IHRB committee hinted, however, at a potentially organised attempt to derail Elliott s career.
Davy Russell has poured cold water on "totally unfounded" rumours that he is poised to take up a hands-on role in Gordon Elliott s powerful training operation.
