Tower ticks every box for MCU s goalkeeper concerns

Premium Content Subscriber only Magpies Crusaders will field a potent goalkeeper tandem in the upcoming NPL Queensland campaign after securing the signature of incumbent shotstopper Jayden Tower. The club announced Tower s return via Facebook on Monday morning. Tower was coach Tom Ballantyne s main man between the posts during Magpies Crusaders stint in the Mackay Premier League last year. He made his NPL Queensland debut against Gold Coast United early last year, before Magpies Crusaders were dumped from the restructured competition following a COVID-19 induced break. The club has since recaptured former starter Willem Lejeune to be the lead man on its return to the state league set-up but in Tower, Ballantyne has a more than capable back-up.

It s good, he s been down in Canberra and I ve been in Brisbane so it will be good to play together again.

What Melbourne City s move could mean for expansion

What Melbourne City’s move could mean for expansion A Set the default text size A Set large text size Replay A Set the default text size A Set large text size It has just been announced that Melbourne City are moving to a new base in southeast Melbourne where they hope to develop a clear geographic identity for themselves similar to the Western Sydney Wanderers, Western United and Macarthur FC. This move has been in the works for 18 months in partnership with the Team 11 consortium, who failed to gain a licence in the last round of expansion. Founded in 2009 as Melbourne Heart, before being taken over and rebranded by City Football Group in 2014, this move to the southeast adds another layer of history to the club’s identity. It also raises the question of whether they will once again change their name, in order to connect with local fans.
