Our Correspondent Imphal, Oct. 6 (EMN): In a move to converge and design reforms and strategic ties that will reshape the economies of the Northeast region in future, the 8th edition of the Young Leaders Connect (YLC) also called Young Leaders Connect-8 will be held under the aegis of North East Leaders Connect (NELC) in Imphal on Friday. The theme for this year’s conclave, which is expected to be attended by around 500 young faces of the region is, ‘Northeast India 2030: Towards India’s Innovative and Sustainable Growth’. Union minister of Law & Justice Kiren Rijiju, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Manipur education minister The Basantakumar, Lok Sabha MP Gaurav Gogoi, Former ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhaya will attend the day long conclave. My research had told me that Reiek Peak in Mizoram, India’s north-eastern state, overlooks the surrounding hills and plains of Bangladesh. But last October, when I finally reached the summit after an hour’s hike through a moss-green jungle, mist blanketed the view and I saw nothing but thick whiteness. I’m so sorry, the weather is so bad today, my driver said, sensing my disappointment.
