GUWAHATI: Just months ahead of the Assembly elections, two Congress MLAs and a senior leader of the BPF (Bodoland People s Front) joined the BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) at the party s office in Hengerabari here on Tuesday.
Former State PWD Minister and Congress MLA from Golaghat Ajanta Neog, party s former Lakhipur MLA Rajdeep Gowala, and senior BPF leader and former BPF MLA from Gauripur Banendra Kumar Mushahary joined the ruling party in the presence of its State president Ranjeet Kumar Dass as well as Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and Forest Parimal Suklabaidya.

Guwahati, Dec 29 : Two Congress MLAs and a Bodo outfit s senior leader on Tuesday joined the BJP in Assam, months ahead of the Assembly elections.
Former Assam PWD Minister and Congress MLA from Golaghat Ajanta Neog, Congress Lakhipur MLA Rajdeep Gowala, and senior Bodoland People s Front (BPF) Bolendra Mushahary joined the ruling party in the presence of its state President Ranjeet Kumar Dass and Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Mushahary is a former MLA of the BPF, an ally of the BJP since 2016. Gowala was also Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the Assembly.

At a time when the Assembly poll in the State is around four months away, the Congress has started to feel the jolt since a number of its MLAs are on the brink of joining the BJP.

GUWAHATI: At a time when the Assembly poll in the State is around four months away, the Congress has started to feel the jolt since a number of its MLAs are on the brink of joining the BJP.
According to sources, former PWD Minister and Congress MLA from Golaghat Ajanta Neog is all set to join the BJP. She had a meeting with Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday night when her joining the Saffron party was finalized. Neog, however, is yet to make her decision public.
