MELAKA: Melaka DAP vice-chairman Khoo Poay Tiong has started strengthening his election machinery on Friday (Oct 28), ending weeks of speculation that he will be dropped from contesting in the 15th General Election (GE15).
MELAKA: Incumbent Bentong MP Wong Tack will have his DAP membership automatically revoked if he defends his seat as an Independent candidate, says party secretary-general Anthony Loke.
MELAKA: Rival groups in Melaka DAP have agreed to a truce in a bid to put a stop to prolonged infighting within the party.
The reconciliation between the two factions, one led by Melaka DAP chairman Datuk Tey Kok Kiew and another by Kota Melaka MP Khoo Poay Tiong, will see no contest in the upcoming state party convention and election on April 18.
The rivalry between Tey and Khoo emerged after Melaka DAP’s election in October 2018.
Melaka DAP was divided into two factions although Tey and Khoo were initially in the same camp when the state DAP was led by Goh Leong San, who has since resigned from the party.
