Gogi Butt booked in fresh case of terrorism
Complainant seeks return of forcibly signed blank stamp papers

Aqeel alias Gogi Butt, the notorious ‘gangster’ of Lahore, sent behind bars a few days ago, has been booked in another case of abduction, extortion and terrorism on the complaint of a citizen.
Since his arrest on Wednesday, only one citizen has complained against the infamous gangster alleging that he had demanded extortion money of Rs5 million from him.
A day earlier, police had made announcements on loudspeakers of various mosques in the city urging people to come forward if they had any grievance or complaint against Butt regarding land grabbing, extortion, terrorism or harassment in particular.

LAHORE:Lahore police arrested Gogi Butt and 12 other criminals after the police encounter in the limits of Mustafa Town police station on Wednesday.
Mustafa Town police registered a case against Gogi and 12 others under Sections 7ATA, Punjab Arms Ordinance, 337H(2), 149, 148, 216 and 353 PPC, on the complaint of Inspector Mazhar Iqbal of CIA Iqbal Town.
According to details, CIA Iqbal Town police was informed that some hardened criminals were present at the dera of Gogi Butt in Canal View Society, Mustafa Town. Police raided the dera of Gogi Butt who along with his accomplices offered resistance and opened straight fire at the cops. However, the cops escaped unhurt. The raiding team managed to arrest Gogi Butt and his accomplices. The arrested criminals, who were wanted by the police in different cases including murders, were shifted to Ichhra police lockup.

The CIA police arrested Tuesday night Khawaja Aqeel, alias Gogi Butt, along with from a private housing in Lahore.
He has been accused of giving shelter to criminals and facilitating suspects involved in land grabbing, kidnapping, and extortion.
Four other people, including Butt’s son and trader Sheikh Ashfaq, have been arrested too. The police said that Ashfaq has also been named in a murder case in Ichhra.
The police have seized seven rifles and a pistol from the suspects. Further investigation is underway.

Lahore police have identified at least 238 individuals suspected of involvement in land grabbing, extortion and public harassment in the city.
The highest number of suspects has been identified in the cantonment police division where 109 people have been found involved in the criminal activities, followed by 53 in city division, 25 in Sadar, 24 in Iqbal Town, 13 in Civil Lines and 14 in Model Town division. According to the list prepared by the police, around 70 % of the suspected land grabbers, extortionists and those involved in creating public nuisance are residents of the cantonment and city divisions.
