Bangladesh EU Film Fest begins online   Poster of Bangladesh European Union Film Festival. The European Union in Bangladesh launched the first Bangladesh European Union Film Festival on Wednesday in partnership with embassies of EU member states in Dhaka, namely Germany, France, Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, Italy and Spain as well as the Goethe-Institut Bangladesh and the Alliance Française de Dhaka. The maiden edition of BEUFF is showcasing a total of 21 films. The event, which has been arranged marking 50 years of Bangladesh’s independence and friendship between the EU and Bangladesh, will run virtually till June 30. The festival is featuring seven Bangladeshi films made by young aspiring filmmakers, seven EU feature films and seven international short films on climate change.

Sister Library participants read Ferdousi Priyabashini’s ‘Nindito Nondon’ PHOTO: Fuleshwary Priyanandini A special reading of Ferdousi Priyabhashini s autobiography, Nindito Nondon (Shabdashailee, 2014) took place on the evening of February 17 to commemorate the 75th birth anniversary of the Bangladeshi sculptor and Birangona. The reading was led by the event s Elder Sister , Ferdousi Priyabhashini s daughter, Fuleshwary Priyanandini. Attendees took turns reading excerpts of the book during the virtual programme held on Zoom. Fuleshwary Priyanandini recounted the stories she was told by her mother. She lovingly recalled how, Up until her death, she [Ferdousi Priyabhashini] was often engaged in memory of her childhood.
