Student Bird Art Contest Reception During May and June, copies of winning artwork from the 20th annual Student Bird Art Contest held in conjunction with the Godwit Days festival will be on display at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center (AMIC). All are invited to attend a free cookies-and-punch reception at AMIC on Friday, May 19 from 5 to 7 p.m. The contest, cosponsored by Friends of the Arcata Marsh (FOAM) and Redwood Region Audubon Society, received 650 entries from K-12 students throughout Humboldt County. Those who received cash prizes–1st- through 3rd-place winners divided into age categories and five best bird in habitat awards–as well as honorable mentions will be included in the exhibition. Shows at the Arcata Marsh Interpretive Center featuring local art and photography are sponsored by FOAM.
