The immediate past Chairman of Ugbori community in the Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Godwin Metie, has been shot dead by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.
PUNCH Metro gathered that the gunmen perpetrated the act around 9pm on Monday at Merogun, a volatile area of the Warri metropolis.
According to sources, the deceased was waylaid by the mask-wearing hoodlums, who opened fire on him at close range.
He reportedly gave up the ghost on the spot.
In a similar development, a bricklayer, identified only as Uruese, has been murdered by gunmen suspected to be cultists.

Suspected gunmen have reportedly killed the immediate-past chairman of Ugbori community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Prince Godwin Metie.
Metie, it was gathered, was shot dead at about 9p.m. yesterday at Merogun, a volatile area in Warri.
Sources disclosed that the deceased was reportedly waylaid by masks-wearing hoodlums, who opened fire on him, and died instantly at the scene of the incident.
Similarly, a bricklayer, simply identified as Uruese, was allegedly murdered by gunmen suspected to be cultists.
Uruese, who was popularly known as ‘Iron Monkey’, was killed at Orerokpe in Okpe Local Government Area of the state last Friday.

Yet-to-be-identified gunmen, late Monday night, killed a 44-year-old immediate past chairman of Ugbori community in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta State, Amb. Prince Godwin Metie.
The incident, suspected to be executed by assassins, occurred at around 9:00 p.m at Merogun area, near popular Iyara community in Warri.
Reports claim Itsekiri-born Metie was set to celebrate his 45th birthday on February 13 before he was assassinated by gunmen who wore masks.
Meanwhile, suspected cultists were reported to have shot dead a mason simply identified as Uruese alias Iron Monkey in Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of the state.
