Burnham musician Taylor Topham launches new single written in lockdown
Burnham-On-Sea musician Taylor Topham has launched a new single this week that covers the emotions of the recent lockdown.
He wrote ‘Shelter’ a couple of months ago in the thick of lockdown with backing vocals from a friend in Spain.
”The song follows a story of escaping from the business of life and all of the issues that are going on at the moment,” he told Burnham-On-Sea.com.
”I see it as almost like a refuge for my heart and a nice place to go whenever things get too much and I hope it can open some hearts too.”
Farmers take part in charity tractor run in emotional tribute to local smallholder
Farmers from across the region took part in a fundraising tractor run near Burnham on Sunday (May 3rd) in tribute to a local smallholder who has suddenly passed away.
113 tractors joined the run, which began in Wedmore and then passed through Godney, Mark and Blackford, finishing at Allerton.
It was held in memory of Chris Popham, a popular local smallholder from between Wedmore and Mark, who recently passed away.
Each of the tractor drivers taking part made a donation to charity and raised £1,114 for Burnham’s In Charley’s Memory towards mental health awareness and support.
In a perfect position alongside Minehead s harbour, the iconic Old Ship Aground is a vibrant spot bursting with character. Expect a friendly, warm atmosphere and a carefully picked wine menu and a varied selection of ales and ciders. The River Cottage style menu draws on the owners farming experience, and traditional pub dishes have received an inventive twist and use produce that s home-grown or sourced locally. Seafood aficionados make your way down to the Old Ship Aground on a Tuesday – the pub s popular Fish Evening serves up a feast of seafood treats!
Enjoy the view: Find a seat at a table just across from the pub to enjoy views of the pretty harbour and out towards the sea. The outside area is delightful; as well as the views, the spot has been beautifully decorated with floral displays and hanging baskets.
