“We have managed a 2-1 win today [Saturday] but it doesn’t mean this is all over,” Bbosa told the club’s official website after the game.
“We have a return leg, we have a few days but we are going back to correct our mistakes, generally the boys concentrated and earned the win.”
On his part, captain Enock Walusimbi echoed coach Bbosa’s sentiments by stating the job is not done yet despite the 2-1 win.
“We have managed to win because we concentrated, the early goal destabilised us a bit but the boys showed a lot of mental strength but the job is not done yet,” Walusimbi told the same portal.

Erick Kambale came close to opening the scores for the visitors in the 20th minute when he created enough space to connect well to a corner delivered by Godfrey Lwesibawa but he placed the ball agonizingly past the near post on the left.
Express goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga was called into action ten minutes later when his finger-tip save denied Villa’s Ronald Ssekiganda and at the opposite end, Saidi Kenyi also came through for the hosts with a similar save to deny Charles Musiige five minutes to the break.
After the resumption, Express knew they had to keep piling more pressure on their opponents, especially on the flanks, and winger Martin Kizza tried on several occasions to penetrate the Villa defence but fell short.
“Well it was a tough game but we managed to pick up two important away goals,” Bbosa told the club’s official website. “I think the advantage is ours now and we’re going back to correct the mistakes we did today [Tuesday].
“Overall, I think we played well but we can do better in the return leg.”
On his part, midfielder Byamukama was happy to notch his first goal for the club and also echoed coach Bbosa’s sentiments by stating they have the advantage going into the return leg as they scored the two vital away goals.
“First of all I am happy to have scored my first goal for the club this season,” Byamukama told the same portal. “It was a really difficult game but we managed to get two important away goals.
Bbosa has praised his players for their resilience despite playing most of the game a man down, and further revealed how they came out on top because of using the chances they created.
“We are glad we managed to win our first game of the second round at home,” Bbosa told the club’s official website after the game.
“The most important thing today [Saturday] is that we prepared well, we managed to play even with 10 men but I think we used our chances well and the boys played as a unit now we move to our focus to the Uganda Cup away game to Kyetume FC, our target is to stay in both competitions and we win them.”
