Have you ever been lost?
I mean really lost like; “ I have no idea where I am right now! I am not where I am supposed to be. I started out going in one direction and ended up going in another direction.
It can be a scary feeling.
I recall a particular time while on Army Ranger training when I was leading a patrol of soldiers through the swamps of Florida towards an objective. The pressure was on to get to the objective on time or the mission would fail.
As the leader I had the map and compass and was expected to know where we were at all times. I had to keep track of how far we had traveled and what landmarks we passed. Of course the patrol is conducted at night after very little sleep.
