Panaji (Goa) [India], December 19 (ANI): Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Friday extended his warm wishes to the people of Goa on the occasion of the 59th Anniversary of Goa s Liberation. On this auspicious occasion of GoaLiberation Day, I extend my best wishes to the people of Goa, the Chief Minister said.
It is indeed a remarkable day in Goa s history, as the State attained freedom from 450 years of Portuguese rule, Sawant added. Our freedom fighters fought hard, sacrificed their lives to let the future generations of Goa live in peace and happiness. The State has experienced ups and downs since then. Socially, economically, yet, have stood strong, shining like a star, holding tight to its cultural heritage, the Chief Minister said.

Speaking as the chief guest after unfurling the national tricolor on the occasion of the 60th Year celebration of Goa Liberation at Parade Ground, Panaji, the Chief Minister said his government is endeavoring to achieve self-sufficiency with a thrust on promoting self-employment to achieve the desired result under Atmanirbhar Bharat and Swayampurna Goa campaign.

Panaji (Goa) [India], December 19 (ANI): PresidentRam Nath Kovind on Saturday arrived in Goa on a two-day visit to mark the occasion of 60th Goa Liberation Day. The President was received at the Goa airport by Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari and Chief Minister Pramod Sawant.
Chief Minister Sawant took to Twitter to share pictures of the President s arrival in the coastal state where he will be participating in the function to announce the commencement of the celebrations of 60th Goa Liberation Day. It was an honour to welcome the Hon ble President of India Shri Ram Nath Kovindji at Dabolim Airport, on his visit to Goa on the occasion of Goa Liberation Day, Sawant tweeted.
