him if, in fact, i do go to washington, i do want him to be involved and engaged because his representation to the hispanic community. there is no animus towards the hispanic community at all. first of all, when i first spoke to him, he had said there could be animus even by you. i said, how, my grandmother was born in argentina. my grandmother was spanish. so, how? i don t understand. you re imposing upon me hopefully there is a fresh start. i just heard you say something. there will be a fresh start. that is what i would say to the protesters. please, give him a chance. wait to see before you make your decision. the american people have decided, that s our democracy. what are you protesting? it just doesn t make sense. let him be the man that i know he can be and he ll prove himself he s won that chance. he deserves it. let s see what happens. you just said something. if i go to washington, we re trying to figure out who is going to go. i haven t been asked.
thrown around by ted cruz and others are things that we ve never heard before. no, we re in uncharted territory here, and, you know, at some point, there s got to be a revulsion by just ordinary people that say, okay, man, go to washington and do your job. that does demand some compromise, it does demand working together, but every bit of incentive we have from gerrymandering to the way the media works today, if you clash, if you get on a high horse, if you obstruct things, you re going to end up better off. and at some point, america has to get back on an even keel. you worked for senator moynahan years ago. you know how the senate would work. people would sit down, they d carve out new legislation. they d come to compromises, and it s going to be difficult to get back to that period. and this election, you know, donald trump s nomination, this whole investigation makes it all the more difficult. and the senate used to have some very uncooperative members in the ted cruz mold, but
