Meeting held to address concerns over off-road vehicles in Glyn Ceiriog as local councillor says enough is enough

Posted: Mon 28th Jun 2021 Meeting held to address concerns over off-road vehicles in Glyn Ceiriog as local councillor says “enough is enough” A meeting has been held amid concerns over off-road drivers using small country lanes in Glyn Ceiriog, with the local councillor stating that “enough is enough”. The area has attracted off-road bike users in particular, due to the road conditions, with drivers from as far as Nottingham and the Midlands recently being spoken to by police. Similar scenes have also played out in other parts of Wales, not only for motorbikes but also groups of 4x4s, and in the Lake District and North Yorkshire.

Concerns raised over potholes in Glyn Ceiriog as youngsters unable to get to school

HUNDREDS of holes in the road are leaving residents isolated in their community. Sionedd Hughes, of Glyn Ceiriog in Wrexham said her son was left unable to attend school due to the sheer amount of ‘totally unavoidable’ potholes in the area. Her 13-year-old son Richard has used a council run taxi service to get to and from school since he started. But now, despite returning after the Covid-19 pandemic, Sionedd said the drivers have refused to pick him up and drop him off due to the ‘ridiculous’ state of the road – which has meant he was unable to attend school earlier this week.
