A northern KZN family was left disappointed after the police took away one of the six cows that had been lobola price for its daughter, this after an investigation into stolen cattle led police to their home in Gluckstadt where the cow and her calf were taken.

DURBAN - A NORTHERN KwaZulu-Natal family was demanding answers from their son-in-law after police confiscated one of the six cows the man had paid for their daughterâs lobola following allegations that the cow was stolen.
The family, from Makhukhula Village, said they were disappointed to find one of these cows had been stolen.

While searching on Tuesday for a cow stolen over the weekend, police in northern KwaZulu-Natal found another cow that had been stolen to pay lobola in 2019.
Police spokesperson Capt Nqobile Gwala said the Zululand multi-district stock theft task team followed up information relating to livestock stolen at Glückstadt village over the weekend.
“They went to the Makhukhula area, where a stray cow was found. The cow was positively identified by the owner as the one stolen over the weekend,” Gwala said.

Durban - KZN police have seized a cow that was used to pay for lobola in 2019. The cow had allegedly been stolen.
KZN police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala said the Zululand Multi-District Stock Theft Task Team had been following up on information, regarding livestock that was allegedly stolen in the Gluckstadt Village over the weekend, on Tuesday morning.
“They went to Makhukhula area where a stray cow was found. The cow was positively identified by the owner as the one that was stolen over the weekend.”
While investigating this matter police came across another incident in which cattle were allegedly stolen in March 2019.
